Welcome to Airbnb’s list of the most wishlisted U.S. rentals for 2026, which the platform says are “remarkable stays” that “represent a growing demand for travel experiences that go beyond the ordinary.”
In a recent survey commissioned by Airbnb, over half of the respondents said a unique or interesting listing would inspire them to visit a destination they hadn’t previously considered.

1. Key West Outpost, Florida

The Outpost is a floating cottage surrounded by the backcountry waters of Key West that’s surprisingly well-equipped given its off-grid location.
The layout includes front and back decks, a sitting area/game room and a fully equipped kitchen. There’s a bathroom off the kitchen and a living room with a futon that converts to a bed. In addition, there’s a loft with a second bedroom and a topside sitting area for 360-degree views.
One reviewer described it as a “very tranquil and cool experience.”

The owners of this Atlantic Ocean vacation home say that guests are guaranteed “plenty of peace and privacy.”
They add: “Our guests can enjoy beautiful sunrises and sunsets. And for outdoor enthusiasts, our location offers great opportunities for fishing and crabbing.”
One reviewer said: “What a gem! The place was clean, as described, and absolutely perfect for a relaxing ocean stay.”

This recently renovated canalside home, a short drive from Bay St. Louis and the city’s beaches, has an outdoor bar area and a fire pit, and guests can even fish from the backyard.
Inside, there are modern bathrooms, three smart TVs, a wash-dryer, and two bedrooms, one with a queen sleeper sofa.
One reviewer said: “We loved fishing from the back yard, reading on the deck, riding bicycles, and playing games at the table. The home was beautifully decorated yet free of clutter.”

It adds: “Thoughtfully designed for romantic getaways and intimate friend trips, find yourself relaxing in the hot tub under starlit skies, enjoying cozy evenings by the fire, and crisp mornings on the patio watching the sunrise.”
The property is located between Yellowstone and Glacier national parks and is described by one past guest as “so beautiful.”

5. Vermont Treehouse in the Woods, Hardwick

“This is a true forest stay,” says the listing, which adds that it will appeal if you’re seeking “solitude, connection, and a meaningful pause.”
In the warmer months, you can “open the windows and fall asleep to the sounds of the stream and forest,” while in the winter, a “quiet and magical” atmosphere pervades.
Features include a living space, lofted sleeping area and wood-fired sauna.
“Truly something special,” was the verdict from one past guest.

On the practical side, it features 1.5 bathrooms, a tumble dryer, a fully equipped kitchen and a large patio area with a propane grill.

This is your chance to spend the night in a sculpture, declares the listing.
The Robert Bruno Steel House was designed and built by the American sculptor and artist Robert R. Bruno Jr, who fashioned the structure from scrap steel.
The live-in artwork features a full kitchen, laundry facilities and views of Lake Ransom Canyon. “Definitely a neat experience,” said one guest.

You’ll find it hard to be negative about this camera-shaped lodge, which features a memory foam bed positioned in the “lens.”
While snug under the duvet, you can gaze across at a “beautiful mountainscape,” then make breakfast in the fully fitted kitchen, complete with island.
“Beyond expectations,” was one summation from a past guest.

9. Cozy Modern Treehouse, North Bend, Washington

Nature awaits at this cedar treehouse, which is nestled in enchanting old-growth forest.
On the main floor is a small kitchenette with a Keurig coffee machine, microwave, hot water pot, and a small fridge. There’s also an outdoor kitchen space with a small grill, single-burner camp stove, and a large crock of drinking water, plus a propane-fed hot shower.
In the evenings, you can enjoy cozy movie nights courtesy of a 100-inch projector.
One guest said she “felt like a fairy in a fairytale.”

10. Dome Sweet Dome, El Prado, New Mexico

This unusual monolithic dome is set on 12 acres that you’re free to explore, and offers unobstructed mountain and desert views, according to the listing.
It explains that there is a living and dining room, a stocked kitchenette and a fenced-in back yard with a private hot tub and deck.
Air conditioning? No need for it say the hosts, who reveal: “The monolithic dome is extremely well insulated and maintains cool temperatures inside even when it’s hot out.”
“We really enjoyed the quirks,” said one guest.
