Cyprus, the third largest island in the Mediterranean, has long been a firm favourite among UK travellers for family holidays. Cypriots are family-orientated, so hospitality here embraces every generation.
The majority of the hotels offer family-friendly activities and restaurants, and the year-round sunny weather will keep everyone smiling, whether you choose Unesco-protected Paphos, or historical Limassol with its seven-mile stretch of coast.
Beyond accommodation, you’ll find the locals giving a warm welcome to children, even in the plusher restaurants. It is not uncommon for entire families to dine late into the evening, particularly in summer. In the warmer months the pace of life slows down – a siesta in the daytime becomes the norm and pushes back dinnertime.
There are numerous family-friendly festivals throughout the year, from food themed ones to those focused around traditional dance.
Whether you’re looking for a stay with a kids’ club that the little ones won’t want to leave; an all-inclusive that allows you to completely switch off; or a five-star resort for a fancy family getaway, these are the very best hotels in Cyprus to take the whole clan to.
