I could rave all day about how much I love Cadence Capsules—if you really want to upgrade your collection of travel bottles, look no further. I’ve been using them for four years and they really are my favorite. The TSA-approved, BPA-free capsules are magnetic, so they cling to one another in any toiletry bag. They’re designed without any right angles or edges, making them the easiest on our list to clean. They also feature interchangeable, magnetic labels, so you know exactly what product you’re reaching for, whether that’s shampoo or makeup remover. Best of all, they are 100% leakproof. I’ve brought a few Cadence Capsules with me on every trip I’ve taken over the last four years and I’ve never had one of them leak in my bag.
You can use these capsules for anything really, from shampoo and body wash to makeup remover and moisturizer. Along with liquid toiletries, I regularly use them to hold medications in my purse like Advil and Benadryl, daily vitamins, and safety pins. There are three sizes available: the Small (0.56 oz.), the Medium (1.32 oz.), and the Large (2.75 oz.). If you need more space, simply add on the Flex Extender, which can be twisted onto any Flex Capsule to give you room for extra product (1.43 oz., to be exact—which means for carry-on travel, you’ll want to attach it to size medium or below to stay under the liquid threshold).
You can buy individual bottles, customize your own routine, or choose a set like this bestseller bundle, which really has it all. The Bestseller Set features five medium-sized capsules, two small ones, and one flex extender. Labels included in the bundle are shampoo, conditioner, body wash, cleanser, moisturizer, a pill icon, and a sun icon (for SPF).
My main con with Cadence Capsules has always been that there isn’t the option to pump or squeeze out any product from them (but that does help ensure they never leak!). To solve this problem, Cadence launched the Adapters, which can be added to the top of a capsule so that product pours, drips, or splashes out. I will say I find these adapters to be quite difficult to remove once you’ve added them into a capsule, so they’re not as interchangeable as I’d like them to be.
